My name is Johan Farkas and I am a PhD Fellow at Malmö University, Media and Communication Studies.
My PhD explores new forms of disguised propaganda online – a topic I have published several research articles about. Overall, I am interested in how political discourses are shaped, transformed and contested, both in and around digital media – specifically in relation to civic engagement, institutional politics and news consumption. My research also concerns how digital media changes societal perceptions of facts and truths (epistemology).
My professional skills are solidly centered on digital media and the political sphere, and I have experience as a researcher, lecturer, consultant, project manager, communications assistant, web administrator and social media manager. My Master’s degree is from the IT University of Copenhagen in Digital Design and Communication.
